Looking Back, Moving Forward – from Mel

As the year winds down, there is something deeply satisfying about tying up loose ends and clearing the deck for a fresh start. There’s magic in beginning a new year with a clean slate, a sense of control, and the promise of better time management. It is the perfect time to take stock of what is working, let go of what is not, and make space for growth. It feels like setting the stage for something bigger, something smarter, and I cannot help but laugh knowing that “future me” will marvel at how far we’ve come—not just in what we’ve created, but in how we’ve learned to create better.

This holiday season holds a deeper meaning for us, as it is the first one without my father. The holidays were always a time when our family came together to celebrate, share, and create memories that I now hold even closer to my heart. While his absence is profoundly felt, I am treasuring what the season meant to us and finding comfort in carrying forward those traditions. As I reflect on where we have been and where we are going, I’m reminded of how important it is to honor the past while embracing the future. Here’s to savoring the journey, cherishing our loved ones, and stepping boldly into what’s next.

Project Updates:

·         We continue having a wonderful time making vlogs and podcasts. 🎧We’re still getting into our rhythm so while they’re not the polished level we’d like to have, we’re getting there. New blog posts about toys, kids, nostalgia and other funky stuff premier on Mondays. Vlogs are released on YouTube on Tuesdays; and Podcasts are released on Wednesdays on your favorite podcast platform such as Spotify or Apple. M&M Funky Five Jive is a 15 min.-or-less podcast bringing you fun and nostalgia as we discuss our take on toys, kids and other funky stuff. We would love for your support and helpful feedback. 😀

 ·         We sent out our first order to Amazon FBA this week. 📪Chika Chaka is almost available on Amazon Prime! FBA is going to change the way we do business. While we’re tweaking this feature, you can still find Chika Chaka on our website chikachakatoy.com and limited specialty toy retailers.

·         We’re new fans of Capcut! 🥳 This platform is awesome for making your social media dreams come true! Mike and I have been using it for some of our latest video posts. Not a lot of feedback data to determine if this is something we want to invest in long-term yet. We’ll keep using it and see what happens in the coming weeks.

 ·         Our week continued with the ❄ Chika Chaka Chums winter wonderland holiday photo session. ❄ ☃ The countdown to Christmas has pushed us to get creative with these little dolls.

 ·         Our passion for getting people moving and our own love of mindfulness, yoga, and healthy habits inspired the resurgence of LēLa, our lifestyle brand that has been sitting on the shelf for almost ten years. Our mission is to help you achieve higher energy without disrupting your daily routine. Balance and well-being are within reach. Timing is everything so watch for more relaxation, meditation, and positive affirmation videos from us as we build it into the M&M Funky Stuff family.
