Looking Back, Moving Forward – from Mel

If you’re old enough to remember the days when you carried pictures in your wallet, this image on the left may warm your heart like it does mine. Whose picture did you have in your wallet? When I was a teenager, I had pictures of my family and my closest high school friends. Excited to add visuals to the stories I would tell, I showed them to my conversationalists with a sense of pride. “Look at these awesome people in my life! Aren’t I lucky to have them!” Now, how does this image above make you feel – special, loved, seen?

I happened to see this when I was in the middle of a difficult task. Suddenly, the task didn’t seem so heavy. It made me reflect on the importance of being who I am, flaws and all. It’s a reminder to stop and remember what’s truly important in life and that your value is in you, not the accomplishments and busy work we create.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis – Unfortunately, the gig at the Children’s Museum didn’t work out for February. M&M Funky Stuff may have a booth at Kids’ Day - We’re gearing up for one of the most exciting family events in Indianapolis, the Salesforce & JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day! 🎉 Indy’s largest free outdoor festival for kids takes over Monument Circle on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Families can enjoy interactive exhibits, educational activities, and plenty of hands-on fun in a carnival-like atmosphere.
